Stephen Cordes - Partner/Co-Executive Producer
Steve is an equity partner of Clarion Partners and was a Managing Director until his retirement in 2014. During his tenure at Clarion, an investment advisory firm, Steve and the team of executives grew the assets under management from $5 billion to $35 billion. He was a member of the firm’s Board of Directors, the company’s Chief Operating Officer, and head of its portfolio management activities. He also served as portfolio manager and chairman of the board of a $3.0 billion investment fund that specialized in multifamily property ownership and development.
Prior to joining Clarion, Steve held positions at Jones Lang LaSalle, the RREEF Funds, CIGNA, and the City of Newark. He has served in various capacities for numerous industry investment management organizations, including the National Multi Housing Council, the Urban Land Institute, and the Association of Foreign Investors in Real Estate. Steve also has been involved in many civic organizations and in 2009 was awarded NJIT’s Edward F. Weston Medal for Professional Achievement in recognition of his outstanding career and his commitment to the university’s development. Steve holds a B.S. in industrial engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Rutgers University.
